About the Make-A-Wish Foundation®
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Born in 1980 when a group of caring people helped a young boy fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer, the foundation is now the largest wish-granting charity in the world, with 69 chapters in the United States and its territories. A network of more than 25,000 volunteers enable the Make-A-Wish Foundation to serve children with life-threatening medical conditions. Volunteers serve as wish granters, fundraisers, special events assistants and in numerous other capacities.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants more than 13,000 wishes a year and has granted more than 160,000 wishes in the U.S. since its inception.
Although it has become one of the world's most well-known charities, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has maintained the grassroots fulfillment of its mission. As the Foundation continues to mature, its mission will remain steadfast. Wish children of the past, present and future will have an opportunity to share the power of a wish®.
Now an annual event:
Each July, the NRBA members have pledged $100 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® for every REO( Real Estate Owned) listing they receive and an additional $5 for every BPO (Broker Price Opinion)order. Over the years, most of us have made a good living handling REO properties. It's time for all of us to get together and give something back. But we need your help.
Here’s how it works:
The NRBA members have each generously agreed to make a donation directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation on all of the REO and BPO business that they receive during the month of July. The NRBA Members will be donating $100 for each REO listing assignment that they receive as well as an additional $5 for each BPO order that you send them. You too can help these children get their special wish. All you need to do is to use a participating NRBA member this month and you will be helping a child to realize their dream. This link will take you our list of brokers who are participating in this program.
The NRBA members really are the best in the industry. The assignments you give them will all be handled with the utmost priority. Not only will you be getting the absolute best of service for your properties – but you will also be helping the kids. It’s a “win-win” situation for everyone. The NRBA administrative staff has also volunteered their own time to track and administer this program.
We would ask that when assigning a property to an NRBA member during the month of July that you take a moment to notify us at the NRBA, so that we can log the assignment and follow up on it to make sure that the right thing gets done. Either an email or a quick phone call will be fine.

The NRBA is a national sponsor of The Make-A-Wish Foundation®.The NRBA is bearing all of the promotional and administrative costs of the program. Every penny donated will be going directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has been in existence for over 25 years and has one of the lowest overheads and administrative costs in the field.
All of the funds donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation will be staying in the United States to help children here at home. Each assignment that you notify of us will be logged and tracked. The NRBA will guarantee the collection of all funds pledged.
